Diego Rivera (1886-1957, Mexico) Man at the Crossroads, 1933 Rivera painted murals many of which had strong Socialist themes - this one was painted at the Rockefeller Center in New York - however it caused a great deal of controversy because it included a portrait of Lenin - the first leader of the Soviet Union - and it was destroyed.
