Diego Rivera  (1886-1957, Mexico)

Man at the Crossroads, 1933

Rivera painted murals many of which had strong Socialist themes - this one was painted at the Rockefeller Center in New York - however it caused a great deal of controversy because it included a portrait of Lenin - the first leader of the Soviet Union - and it was destroyed.  He was married to Frida Kahlo.
