CODE OF PRACTICE

STATEMENT OF SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (NI)

If a child has been identified as having special needs and despite efforts by the classroom teachers and others, still requires more help, then he may need to be referred to the Education and Library Board for possible statementing.  To be assessed he will normally have been at stage 3 of the Code of Practice for at least two terms.  *see Code of Practice

If a statement is found to be necessary, it will be written by the Education Officer of the Education and Library Board after gathering the necessary information from all those involved in the child's welfare.
